Waletex coated glass tapes are asbestos-free and feature a silicate mineral composition coating which helps increase the temperature resistance by 10 times or more over that of uncoated glass tapes.
These tapes offer flame resistance up to 2000° F and continuous use temperatures from 1500° F to 1800° F.
Most conventional glass tapes can be used at temperatures up to 1000° F. In a torch test a .066" thick sample withstood a direct flame (approximately 2000° F) for 30 minutes before beginning to burn through.
The combination of increased temperature resistance and strength means a longer working life and can be used for a wide range of applications.
Additional widths of tapes are available, call for more info.
